SOLD — The Ivory Guardian Sole-Authorship by Jeff Royer

The Ivory Guardian is a one-of-a-kind chef knife by Jeff Royer, built to live at the meeting point of kitchen performance and a sculptural masterpiece.

The 13-inch mosaic feather Damascus blade carries movement through the steel like wind through plumage. Its S-grind brings balance and cutting performance, while the radiused spine, blade, and choil make the knife feel refined in the hand.

The vintage wrought iron bolster is sculpted to rise naturally from the fossilized mammoth ivory, not sit apart from it. Jeff shaped the transition so the veins of the ivory seem to flow into the old iron, joining two ancient materials in one continuous form.

The handle is sculpted from interior mammoth ivory into the watchful form of an owl. Every surface is hand carved, textured, and finished, by Jeff with two natural black diamonds, each approximately 1/3 carat, set in 18 karat white gold bezels for the eyes.

Ancient ivory, wrought iron, feather Damascus, gold, and diamond come together in a chef knife with presence, mystery, and purpose. Though The Ivory Guardian is sold, it remains a glimpse of what is possible when Jeff Royer builds without compromise.
