The Scissor Dagger – One-of-a-Kind YouTube Build ~ Made By Kyle Royer
This knife is unlike anything else I’ve made. It was forged from hedge shears (scissors) and finished with a cast aluminum handle made from the original scissor handles. The design turned into a slim, single-edge dagger with a mirror-polished grip and a satin blade finish.
⚠️ Please watch the private buyer’s video before purchasing.
I filmed a detailed walkthrough where I explain both the strengths and the flaws of this knife. This piece does not meet my usual high standards—it was made in about a week for fun and for the YouTube video—but it’s still a sharp, functional, and very unique knife with a great story behind it.
Highlights:
Forged from hedge shears (cast steel blade, ~52–55 Rockwell)
Cast aluminum handle from scissor handles, mirror polished (will naturally oxidize over time)
Slim, pointy single-edge dagger profile with domed spine
Hair-popping sharp edge
Featured in a full YouTube video documenting the build, see video: 👉🏻 https://youtu.be/Sk-a_GNd_EA
Imperfections I want you to know about:
Softer blade hardness than my usual knives
Small tang with possible limits under heavy chopping
Pits and ghost scratches in the aluminum handle
Gappy fit between handle and blade from buffing
Logo not etched as deep as normal
Slight asymmetry possible in blade/handle alignment
This knife carries the RoyerX logo rather than my MS stamp, since it’s a creative project piece.
If you want to own a very rare knife with a full documented build story—and don’t mind that it’s being sold at a major discount compared to my usual work—this one is for you.
