Feather of the Deep: 9.25” Western Chef Knife

$2,800.00

Some knives are tools. This one is an heirloom.

I call this knife Feather of the Deep—a name born from the way its materials speak to each other. The fine feather Damascus blade carries a rippling pattern, like the delicate trace of a bird’s wing in flight. The handle, dyed and stabilized Karelian Birch, swirls in blue-green tones that shift like sunlight through deep ocean water. Together, they feel like a feather carried far out to sea—graceful, enduring, and full of stories.

The sculpted bolster, cast in my own custom copper alloy, glows warmly against those cool ocean hues. A single domed bronze pin holds it all together, a small detail with a big dose of old-world charm. Every line, curve, and surface has been shaped by hand—my hands—until the knife feels alive in yours. It’s balanced to move with you, whether you’re slicing paper-thin tomatoes or carving a roast for friends who’ve been waiting all day.

This is the kind of knife that makes you want to cook. The kind you leave out on the counter because it’s too beautiful to hide. The kind that becomes part of your story in the kitchen.
